A healthy heart has boundaries. Notice the cost when you overextend. Name what you need. Hold your boundaries kindly. A clear no can protect a true yes. Compassion for others is sustainable only when it includes compassion for yourself.
Practices for the heart center
Heart breathing: place a hand on your chest and breathe slowly, imagining the breath moving in and out through your heart. Loving-kindness: silently offer wishes of well-being to yourself, someone you love, a neutral person, and eventually someone difficult. Receiving: practice saying "thank you" to compliments without deflecting. Nature: green is traditionally associated with the heart chakra, so time among trees and plants can be a gentle support.
