Casa Floresta is an intimate retreat sanctuary on the sacred shores of Lake Atitlan, Guatemala, held by forest, lake and volcano. Their website calls it a place to return home to yourself.

A lakeside sanctuary

Tucked in a private cove just outside San Marcos La Laguna and reachable only by boat, Casa Floresta looks out over the volcanoes San Pedro, Toliman and Atitlan. The space is designed for small groups, with natural materials, handcrafted touches and solar powered systems that create harmony between people and nature. Together with Casa Colibri next door, it hosts retreats of up to 16 guests.

“A place to return home to yourself.”

Ceremony, sound and stillness

The sacred Lake Temple, calm waters and open air spaces create a setting for ceremonies, workshops and embodied experiences. Casa Floresta is the home of the Forest Path ceremonial works and the Sound Ceremony Academy courses, founded by Jaya and Hayley Saraswati, who share a love of yoga philosophy, sound, music, mantra and bhakti yoga. Sound Ceremony is described as gathering in reverence and presence of sound through deep listening, a contemplative listening meditation.
