RogersHood Apothecary greets visitors with a line that tells you what it cares about most: “A community supporting you to be your own patient advocate.” RogersHood is one of the partners featured on our Light Network page, and the story behind it is one of two women who met on TikTok and built something together.

Two founders, two journeys

Kim Rogers, known to her followers as The Worm Queen, spent more than 20 years in Western medicine, authoring medical publications and contributing to national allied health certification tests. When her own health challenges led her toward a more holistic, natural approach, she shared the journey openly online. In December 2021 she co-founded RogersHood Apothecary, where she now serves as CEO.

Erica Mixon holds a degree in Wildlife Ecology and Management and began her career in bat research across the United States and Nicaragua. Her own path led her to herbs, mushrooms, dietary changes and a 200 hour yoga teacher training. She and Kim connected on TikTok in 2021 and built a community centered website that grew into the apothecary. Today Erica oversees manufacturing, the website and fulfillment, making sure every order is crafted and delivered with care.

Made by hand in Arkansas

RogersHood makes its herbal cleansing kits and tinctures in its own facility in Arkansas. The team says every ingredient is certified organic or ethically wild foraged, that products are tested by independent labs, and that packaging is chosen to be recyclable and low waste. Their site also notes that its statements have not been evaluated by the FDA and encourages checking with your healthcare practitioner, which we appreciate.

How RogersHood helps the world in its own way

RogersHood’s heart is education and encouragement. On their podcast, What’s Eating U?!, Kim and co-host Sam Bruno, a songwriter and natural wellness advocate, share live Q&A replays, field trips and honest conversations about their own journeys, and invite listeners to learn and grow right alongside them. The site adds free ebooks, a food guide and a Facebook community.

What stands out is their belief that people deserve an active role in their own wellbeing. “Be your own patient advocate” is not a slogan tucked into fine print; it is the first line on their home page. Kim and Erica both came to this work through personal experience, and they have built a team of more than 30 people around sharing what they learned with transparency and a sense of humor. Their podcast even closed a season with a bloopers episode.
