One cannot talk about Sedona without mentioning the vortexes. These are areas of concentrated energy rising from the earth. Many visitors describe them as places that inspire and renew those who arrive with an open heart. During our visit, we experienced tingles and great sensations which left us refreshed and rejuvenated.

One of our favorite stores was Crystal Magic.

The owner was wonderful and let our kids pick out free mini crystals. They have a huge selection of crystals and spiritual tools.
We also picked up a Sedona oracle deck there, a perfect keepsake that still helps us reflect on the energy we felt on that trip.

A Gentle Packing List for Sedona
- Sun protection. The Arizona sun is strong year round, so a wide brimmed hat and sunscreen are essential.
- Water. A hydration pack or a large bottle makes long hikes and tours far more comfortable.
- Good shoes. Many trails are rocky and uneven, so choose supportive hiking boots or trail shoes.
- Something to read. The Call of Sedona: Journey of the Heart by Ilchi Lee offers a thoughtful look at why so many people consider Sedona a sacred place.
- A crystal companion. Many visitors like to bring a chakra set or a single meaningful stone to hold during meditation at the vortex sites.
